Gorgeous Cat, again beautiful tones and lots of detail, but the pose and the lovely eye contact and windblown hair give it real warmth. Now you are out to 190mm and still at f/2.8, what lens?.....Alan

Nice framing, and the subject is beautiful. The right border is empty, and I was wondering how you'd feel if you brought it in a little.
This would be my pic of the two. Her skin tones look better, more pink than yellow.Lovely natural framing. Like the wind blown hair too, gives it a natural feel....lovely

I love this! I would not have the top board included though"The poetry of photography will always be more important than the mechanics of the camera..." - J-H. Lartigue
Thank you, very much, Alan, (info' on lens on your swan image)
Hi Chris. Thank you for the advice on the crop, which I will try. I was a little stuck on what to do, I thought of selecting the post and copy/reverse it to the other side.
Hi viv and thanks for the comments. You've just got to love those freckles

Hi and thank you, Bridget. I was really at a loss on the colour tones and would gladly accept any suggestions. The only thing I did, after processing the raw file, was add hdr only to the subject. I have the original, which doesn't look any different with the tonal range. If you don't mind I will pm youCat
Thank you, Maggi and Oly, for your comments and suggestions. I would love to rescue this image. Your help is always appreciatedCatIt's not what you look at that matters, it's what you see ~ Henry David Thoreau
VERY nice is this! Lovely clarity and I like the golden tones. A real bonus would have been if the puppy had been looking at you, too. Try cropping top and bottom to get rid of that top bit of rail and the stuff underneath the bottom one. It's beaut, natural portrait and I love her freckles.
Why isn't it in POTW?

Thank you, Jan. I tried whistling at the pup but she was so intent on eye-hunting the chickens. Must be the Jack Russell in her. Thanks to you and everybody, I took the advice and it looks a whole lot better. CatIt's not what you look at that matters, it's what you see ~ Henry David Thoreau
This is a beautiful capture, Cat.
Is this your daughter?
The 2 of them look as though yjey belong to each-other!

Much tighter crop, and much more intimate this way. The post at bottom, the girl's general look and clothing, all help keep the context, too. Nice revision.
Excellent remake Cat, love it....

This is so much better - great lighting in her hair and lots of lovely detail (especially like pup's whiskers). Did she get to take him/her home? Janhttp://janpudney.net/ http://jaypea.redbubble.com/
