Top class, Maggi. Beautiful lighting and skin tones. A stunning capture of a beautiful child. You are so giftedCatIt's not what you look at that matters, it's what you see ~ Henry David Thoreau
This is such a lovely shot. I agree with Cat about the lighting and tones. I don't know anything about portraits so I ask tentatively about maybe a little more light on the upper part of the eyes? Having said that the eyes are quite stunning looking. Viv
Ditto - beautiful lighting and I love her expression and eye contact. Also like the space to the right. I like the dark shadowy look, but I wonder what it would be like if the facial shadows were lightened a little - just curious! It's lovely as it is, Maggi.

Thanks all, I was going to lighten the eyes and realized I liked the dark eyelashes reflected as shadows in the eyes. I will give lightening the facial curves Jan and see what you think, she is my eldest grandaughter.

I agree with you, Maggi - and you've caught just a touch of sunlight on her left eyelashes - worth a try with the other one, though. It's a wonderful portrait.

hello M, this is absolutely fantastic; I hadn't seen it... not many pull these together as they should be.. this one is definitely exemplary"The poetry of photography will always be more important than the mechanics of the camera..." - J-H. Lartigue
Why thank you O, means a lot coming from you.....You've heard of the accidental tourist, I am the accidental photographer. Its like coming up to bat, nice to hit the sweet spot now and again. Glad to see you are still among us...you have touched many and left a lingering scent of yourself..........Truly O.

I think it's hard to hold compliments maybe because we're so used to life generally never having a shortage of the other in some way or another, but I will try to hold what you said.. it's far too kind, but I appreciate what you said. Sometimes it becomes easier to do photography more quietly (away from the web) and so I do that sometimes, re-fuel etc.
p.s. I can somehow hear Amanda make the jab to ask if it's B.O. lol ... Take care M..."The poetry of photography will always be more important than the mechanics of the camera..." - J-H. Lartigue
Be Well O!
