Wild Male Barn Owl - Isle of Wight

I had seen him land on this post many times but to take a chance to get it a shot of him would mean being out of sight of the fields where he hunts. I got there nice and early and he flew straight from the barn to the post and then stayed on the post for a good 10-15 mins. This is one of many portraits of him.

Thanks Linda, Jason, Cat, Maggi, Amanda, Kelly and Alan. It has taken me a few months to get these last few shots but I am very pleased. The farmer has now cut the grass in all the fields where I used to go and it has become nearly impossible to get this close now.
