I had seen him land on this post many times but to take a chance to get it a shot of him would mean being out of sight of the fields where he hunts. I got there nice and early and he flew straight from the barn to the post and then stayed on the post for a good 10-15 mins. This is one of many portraits of him.
Superb in every detail - The owl looks as if it knows you with the eye contact you have captured in this shot. POTW I would say 10+The hidden harmony is better than the obvious. Alexander Pope (1688-1744)
This is my favourite - absolutely 'A' class photography. I love the eye contact and the pose. Terrific lighting and dof. What beautiful faces they haveCatIt's not what you look at that matters, it's what you see ~ Henry David Thoreau
Hes a beauty, I want one! Do you deliver? These are all such lovely shots. What a pretty thing to see.
~In His Love~ Maggi D For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek. Romans 1:16
Thanks Linda, Jason, Cat, Maggi, Amanda, Kelly and Alan. It has taken me a few months to get these last few shots but I am very pleased. The farmer has now cut the grass in all the fields where I used to go and it has become nearly impossible to get this close now.
