I don't usually like pictures of people with the head removed (although there are very occasional exceptions). Perhaps you should try and find someone to model for you who is also a photographer. Then you could have nice images of yourself and focus more on your photography. I know it's more difficult to photograph yourself than other people. This isn't at all bad, but I'm sure you could do better.
