Hüfa Partners with Intro 2020

International Camera Accessories, manufacturers of the hüfa lens cap clip, have named UK-based Intro 2020 as their newest authorised international distribution partner. The line of hüfa products will join Intro 2020’s 24 other brands of premium photo accessories for hobbyists and professionals, including Tamron and Samyang lenses, Hoya and Cokin filters, Velbon and Slik tripods, Tamrac bags, Phottix, Azden, Lensbaby, Lenspen and many others.

Issue 25 of David Noton's Chasing the Light eZine is now available. In this month’s edition, David takes his readers to Prague, relating his four-day adventure in this beautiful city in his Behind the Lens article and Video Blog entry. In Seeing the Light, David continues writing about his latest passion for ‘shooting stars’, while in this month’s Stepping Back feature we are transported to the breath-taking Milford Sound in New Zealand. Lucie Debelkova has contributed this issue’s How It’s Done article, describing how she captured her inspirational shot of the Rock Arch in Wadi Rum. Sony Cyber-shot DSC-QX10/QX100 Firmware Version 2.00

Sony has released a firmware update for the Sony Cyber-shot DSC-QX10 and Cyber-shot DSC-QX100 lens-sensor modules. Version 2.00 changes the resolution of MP4 video files from 1440x1080 to 1920x1080 pixels and expands the ISO range to ISO 3200/36° on the QX10 and ISO 12800/42° on the QX100. Additionally, the Sony Cyber-shot QX100 gains a "shutter priority auto" shooting mode, enabling users to control shutter speed directly.

The Royal Photographic Society (RPS) invites student, amateur and professional photographers worldwide to submit their work to the 157th RPS International Competition. The Royal Photographic Society’s annual International Print Exhibition is the longest standing exhibition of its kind in the world, dating back to 1854. During its long history it has gained a reputation for showcasing a wide range of genres and styles of photography. Now in its 157th year, entry is open to everyone of any age or photographic level.. Initial entry is online, and you can submit up to 4 digital images before 18 March 2014. The selectors will make a shortlist from all uploaded entries and the shortlisted photographers will then supply prints for the final selection of 100 prints for the touring exhibition, including the Gold, Silver, Bronze and Under 30 Award winners.

Panasonic UK will be showcasing a range of digital compact cameras, CSCs and camcorders at The Photography Show, a brand new exhibition dedicated to the imaging industry, held on 1st–4th March at the NEC in Birmingham. Each day of the show will see a different Guest Speaker on Panasonic’s 4K display themed stand (G50 and G60), including David Eustace, Hugh Hastings, Ian Cook, Jan Williams and Chris Teasdale.

Really Nice Images have released a new generation of its photographic film-emulating preset package 'All Films' for Adobe Lightroom users. "'All Films' is our best preset package ever," the developers say. "It is comprehensive. It contains a great diversity of film looks from negative films to Polaroids and slide films." The presets can be purchased and downloaded from the website below.

Nikon D4S to be Shown at The Photography Show

Nikon will be exhibiting its new flagship digital SLR camera, the Nikon D4S, for the first time in the UK at The Photography Show from 1st – 4th March 2014 at the NEC in Birmingham. The company has invested in an interactive stand that will host the complete camera line-up, including the new Nikon Df, D3300 and the latest Coolpix cameras, as well as its range of lenses. The D4S will also be on display at the show before it officially goes on sale, following a development announcement at the Consumer Electronics Show earlier this year.

Eye-Fi Offers Users Sneak Peek of New Apps, Cloud Service

Eye-Fi is offering all Eye-Fi Mobi users a sneak peek of its new mobile apps and cloud service. Users can preview the new applications and services for iOS, Android or Kindle devices through Eye-fi Labs, a customer engagement platform that permits Eye-Fi to directly engage consumers and partners as part of a product development process. “The new capabilities we are previewing are a natural extension of the current Eye-Fi Mobi card and mobile apps and provide a unique and compelling way to link digital cameras with the power of the cloud,” said Sam Hui, VP of product management of Eye-Fi.  “We will work closely with customers to gain insights that we will use to refine the products with the goal of delivering a delightful end-to-end experience when the products are generally available.”

The new Zeiss Touit 2.8/50M is a macro lens with a maximum reproduction ratio of 1:1. Designed for compact system cameras with APS-C sized imagers, the Zeiss Touit 2.8/50M is equivalent to a 75mm lens in a 35mm system. The optical formula comprises 14 elements arranged in 11 groups and an iris diaphragm with nine rounded blades. The Touit 2.8/50M with Sony E and Fuji X mount will be available worldwide in March 2014. Ricoh Teams Up with Google

Ricoh hasupdated the apps for the Ricoh Theta spherical image camera to allow users to post spherical images to Google Maps and Google+. Made possible through a collaboration between Ricoh  and Google, the Theta apps are now compatible with Photo Sphere XMP, Google's panoramic image standard. Users can also make use of the Constellations feature, which enables them to connect spherical images to make an original Street View.
