DxO Labs have just released DxO Optics Pro 9.0.1 which adds supports the new Nikon Coolpix P7800 and Nikon D610. In addition, DxO Optics Pro v9.0.1 benefits from 250 new DxO Optics Modules, which contain copious information about the characteristics of each camera and lens, allowing the application to automatically correct distortion, vignetting, chromatic aberrations, and lens softness.

Nikon has released seven high-resolution sample photos taken with the new Nikon Df digital SLR camera. Captured at a variety of sensitivity settings from ISO 100/21° to ISO 3,200/36°; the official Nikon Df samples were shot with a selection of lenses including the AF-S Nikkor 70-200mm f/4G ED VR, the AF-S Nikkor 50mm f/1.8G Special Edition, the AF-S VR Micro-Nikkor 105mm f/2.8G IF-ED and the AF-S Nikkor 58mm f/1.4G.

Nikon today unveiled the Nikon Df, a digital SLR camera that boasts looks inspired by the company's iconic 35mm film cameras. At the heart of the Df is the same 16.2-megapixel FX-format CMOS sensor found in Nikon’s professional flagship camera, the D4. Other highlights include elegant mechanical dials, a 39-point AF system, a sensitvity range of ISO 100/21° to ISO 12,800/42° - extendable up to ISO 204,800/54° -, compatibility with non-Ai (pre-Ai) lenses, continuous shooting at up to 5.5 frames per second, a self-cleaning sensor unit and a shutter tested to 150,000 actuations. Featuring a pentaprism finder with 0.7x magnification and 100% coverage, the Nikon Df will go on sale at the end of this month at a recommended retail price of £2749.99 / $2,999.95 / €3350.00 including an AF-S Nikkor 50mm f/1.8G lens.

Custom-built for Instagram Video, version 2.0 allows users to use VideoStory to create a unique and engaging video story with photos and music, tailor made for sharing on Instagram. VideoStory 2.0 has both a free (with in-app purchases) and a Pro version ($0.99). It's a universal iOS app that runs on iPhone, iPad, and iPod Touch with support for iOS version 5, 6, and 7.

The Society of Wedding and Portrait Photographers (SWPP) has announced the winners of the Togetherness Photographic Competition. Donna Gray ASWPP from Huntly, Scotland was chosen as the winner from over 35 images entered in to the competition, with the image entitled ‘What you looking at’ (aböve). The photo was shot using a single flash head and softbox. Donna has won a 12-month SWPP membership. The runners-up are Martin Castein and Roy Hawkins.
