Intelligent Imaging Solutions has released piccure, billed as "the first fully automated software tool to correct camera shake." As a plug-in for Adobe Photoshop (CS4 and above) and Photoshop Elements (version 7 or later), piccure automatically detects and corrects image blur resulting from involuntary camera movement. The software runs locally, on a standard computer, and users do not need to worry about their privacy: piccure does not upload any images into the cloud to be processed by some company’s servers, the developers say. The Photoshop plug-in is available for $99, while a simpler version designed for Elements (without multiprocessor support) can be purchased for $49.

New Tethered Shooting Option with Capture One 7

Zoltan Arva-Toth | Software
News image

Phase One and Profoto today announced that photographers can now link their Profoto studio light to the aperture or ISO settings of their DSLR or medium format camera system. While shooting tethered in Capture One Pro, any changes to the aperture on the camera will cause the light intensity of the studio light to automatically compensate an equivalent f-stop. For example, if the photographer switches from f/8 to f/5.6, the light will drop one f-stop, so that the image is not overexposed. The solution lets photographers easily define which groups of lights should be included in the linking. The Profoto Studio plugin download is available at the website below.
