Showfy is an online media sharing service from Magix which allows users to upload and view pictures and videos from practically anywhere. Media uploaded to showfy are saved to so-called streams (galleries in the cloud). Users can be create and manage streams, and add them to a multitude of devices and operating systems. "Whether on your PC, smartphone, tablet or television, showfy supports more devices and platforms than any other sharing program," the company claims. "The showfy apps are available for iOS, Android and Windows Phone, and showfy supports the latest devices from LG, Philips, Toshiba, Panasonic and Samsung. Users can also easily share vacation and wedding albums with friends and family in their own living rooms via the smart TV app and Google Chromecast." Showfy users can grant access to anyone by sending invitations via email. Magix guarantees that only the people they invite — and no one else — can view their favourite photos and videos. The basic showfy account is free, and offers every user 2GB of storage space for their media. Users that require more space can upgrade to showfy Premium for $1.99/month to increase their cloud storage to 25GB.

BitTorrent have just launched Version 2.0 of Sync, their file hosting/sharing/synchronisation tool for Free BSD, Linux, Mac OS and Windows. Updates are also being rolled out to Android, iOS, Kindle and Windows Phone devices. "All of the core functionality we introduced in version 1.4 last August still exist in 2.0, letting you securely share folders across all platforms, with visibility into who has access," says Erik Pounds, Vice President of Product Management for BitTorrent Sync. "A bunch of new functionality has been added, from enhanced user interfaces across desktop and mobile platforms to a new certificates-based security model with even greater control and ease-of-use." Wacom have released a new version of Bamboo Paper. This iPad app, together with the new Wacom stylus firmware update, considerably improves the precision of the smart styli (Bamboo Stylus fineline and Intuos Creative Stylus 2) through better offset correction.. When setting up the app and configuring their stylus, users can now choose from six different wrist positions. These reflect the most common positions of the hand while writing and sketching. Today marks the 25th birthday of Photoshop. To celebrate this milestone, Adobe is showcasing 25 of the most creative visual artists under 25 who use Photoshop. To be considered, artists upload their projects to Behance and use the tag “Ps25Under25.” In the coming months, those selected will take over the Photoshop Instagram handle (@Photoshop) for two weeks and present their work for the world to see. Fredy Santiago, a 24-year old Mexican-American artist and illustrator based in Ventura, California will be the first to display his images. The company is also launching an advertising campaign, “Dream On," for The Academy Awards. The TV commercial includes work from Photoshop artists and iconic images from major motion pictures that used Photoshop in the making, including Avatar, Gone Girl, How to Train Your Dragon 2 and Shrek.

Digital Film Tools today launched PhotoCopy v2.0 and reFine Matte v2.0. PhotoCopy copies the brightness, colour, tone, detail, grain and texture from one image and applies them to another. New features in version 2.0 include internet image searching, Retina display support for Mac, layering and seven masking types for photo plug-in hosts, and the availability of the PhotoCopy user interface for all video/film plug-in hosts. Serif today announced that its professional image editing app for Mac, Affinity Photo, is now available as a free download for public beta testing. The app boasts true end-to-end CMYK, 16-bits per channel editing, LAB colour, RAW processing, ICC colour management, and compatiblity with Photoshop as well as 64-bit plugins. Fujifilm UK has launched a new, app-based photobook printing service. POP Books are small, pocket or handbag sized photobooks made up of your own images from your phone, Facebook or Instagram feeds and printed on Fujifilm's silver halide photographic paper. They come in two sizes, 10x10cm and 13x13cm, and two surfaces, gloss and lustre/matt. The accompanying free iOS app (Android version launching in April) allows you to either order a printed POP Book or share a version online via Facebook, Twitter, Google+, email and so on. AKVIS ha released AKVIS Draw V.2.0, an application which converts photos into pencil sketches and line art pictures. This update adds real-time effects previews to the 64 bit version, expands raw image file support, adds the Pencil tool to the After tab, improves upon the Text tab, adds a 'Show Original' option to the tools' parameters, fixes minor bugs, adds Dropbox to the list of the publishing services and official support for Mac OS X 10.10 Yosemite.
