Smartparts, Inc. Press Release
New 10.4-inch and 5.6-inch viewable image frames permit automatic slideshow viewing of photos and videos.
Englewood, NJ (November 1, 2006) – Smartparts, Inc. (http://www.smartpartsproducts.com), one of the pioneers of the quickly growing Digital Picture Frame product category, announces today two new affordable and easy-to-use Digital Picture Frames that clearly showcase standard (JPEG) images. Available today are the 10.4-inch and 5.6-inch viewable image Digital Picture Frames. The new 12” x 10” Digital Picture Frame with a stylish acrylic bezel features a large hi-definition 10.4-inch LCD display, movie (.avi) file and MP3 capability, remote control access for easy operation and is compatible with all common memory cards including SecureDigital (SD), Memory Stick (MS), MultiMediaCard (MMC), CompactFlash (CF) and xD Picture Cards. In addition, the new genuine wood 8” x 7” Digital Picture Frame features a 5.6-inch LCD display and built-in SD/MMC and MS card reader. As with all Smartparts Digital Picture Frames, these two new frames also feature an automatic slide show function which scrolls through every picture on the user’s memory card. Both frames display clear sharp images without the need for a computer. Both can easily be displayed on a desk or countertop.
“The addition of these two new Digital Picture Frames to the Smartparts family of products now provides consumers with more features and prices to match almost any budget enabling consumers to display hundreds of their favorite digital pictures in a single picture frame without the need for a computer,” said John Roberts, product manager for Smartparts, Inc. “In addition, these versatile new products easily integrate nicely into many different environments and decors making it an ideal product for home or business applications.”
Using a Smartparts Digital Picture Frame is easy. Users just remove their media card from their digital camera, insert the card into the digital picture frame and the frame will display the pictures directly from the media card using its automatic slide show feature – no computer is necessary. Computer users who would like to use their PC or Mac can also easily transfer image files that have already been edited directly from their computer to a media card for use in the digital picture frame. In addition, when using the 10.4-inch viewable image Digital Picture Frame, image files can be transferred to or from a media card inserted in the digital picture frame via the (supplied) USB computer cable.
The new Smartparts 10.4-inch viewable image Digital Picture Frame (SPDPF104) is currently available for $249.99. In addition, the new Smartparts 5.6-inch viewable image genuine wood Digital Picture Frame (SPDPF56E) is now available for $99.99. Both are available at major consumer electronics retailers and photo dealers.

I was given a SmartParts SP-DPF56E Digital Picture Frame two years ago and now the display is so vague I can hardly see the pictures. Is there an LED light that I should replace somewhere in the back? Thanks..

SmartParts is a defunct company - some else is selling their left over stuff and providing very skeletal support - I realized the hard way - bought a digital frame product for which remote did not work - tried to reach the customer service number listed to find that they have been disconnected. So does their email - http://www.ripoffreport.com/cameras-video/smartpartsproducts/smartpartsproducts-impossible-c8cc4.htm
The previous one is from ripoff alerts - several posts in various other forums.
