I am a camera, always looking for collectibles at a bargain price, in the past few years a change in way folks do things here in this part of Japan have kinda hurt my hobby. First of all, one dealer had a deal going where-as when a new camera was bought, he would allow a discount for any non-disposable camera turned in at the time of purchase, then, I bought them from the dealer if it was worth collecting, then, that option disappeared because the manufacturers wanted those old cameras in their grubby little hands, not mine. An effort to keep all "old cameras" out of possible use.
The second thing that has happened is that another dealer has stopped selling used cameras in his shop, and has gotten on the "auction" band-wagon, all used cameras are put on line for bidding, the highest bidder gets the prize.
I am telling you this story because I think that alot of folks that offer used cameras may , indeed, go to the auction mentality, and, maybe, even the thinking that for every used camera that is sold, there is a new camera that ISN"T!.
In other words, the time is right to buy a used camera easily, if that is a viable option for you, the future may change for you, it has for me, here in Japan!

In the UK, one of the best discount places to buy branded digital cameras, is Fuji's Refurb Store:
