Casio EX-V7 Review
The Casio EX-V7 is a slim 7 megapixel digital camera with a 7x zoom lens equivalent to 38-266mm. Casio proudly boast that the EX-V7 is “the world’s slimmest digital camera with a 7x optical zoom lens”, a claim that Ricoh’s R6 camera may contest. The first model in the new Hi-Zoom category (so expect further releases soon), the Casio EX-V7 also features a 2.5 inch LCD, dual image stabilizer, MPEG-4 H.264 movies and no less than 33 different scene modes. Find out if the EX-V7 lived up to expectations in our latest camera review.

Very nice review, Gavin. It's good to see companies finally starting to
offer ultra-compacts with high zoom that are also not plagued by poor
image quality. Mark's review of the Ricoh R6 showed this, as well. We
can only hope there will be many others to follow.
One thing you might want to change. For your Red-Eye shots on page
2 you say, "And here are some self-portrait shots." You might want to
remove the 'self' part ... unless there's something you're not telling us.

Didn't Mark tell you I'm a master of disguise? Wait until you see my review of Fuji's S5

If you buy this camera DO NOT BUY IT FROM DIGITALNERDS.COM. Here's my experience with them:
After spending a few hours searching around for the best deal, these guys advertise a price of $215, $243 with shipping (about $40 cheaper than any other price I can find). I place my order online and 15 minutes later I get a call from a sales rep claiming he has to "confirm the order" but he's really just trying to sell me accessories. One of the items he tries to sell me is another battery, claiming that the camera comes with a "sample" battery that only lasts 20 minutes and that I need to buy an extra camera. Naturally I think, "well there's the rub" that's hy the camera is so cheap, they're selling it with an alternate battery. So I said "If that's the case, cancel the order and..." No sooner did I get the words out of my mouth and this guys says O.K. and hangs up on me.
Made suspicious by his actions I decide to check their site to see if there is any mention of the "sample" battery. But their site clearly states that it comes with a NP50 Rechargeable Lithium-ion Battery, just like anywhere else. Upon checking Casio's site and some other review sites ( http://www.steves-digicams.com/2007_reviews/ex-v7.html for exampe) I learned that this is actually an extended life battery that you can get at least 240 shots out of the camera on a single charge. So I call them on the phone and get a hostile, rude representative who tells me that the order is cancelled and he "doesn't have time to talk about it." When I ask to speak to his supervisor he tells me he has none. When I ask for his name he tells me that he doesn't have to give out his name and he hangs up on me too. He had assured me that my card would not be charged, but my concern is that they low-balled the price to get me to fill out the order form and then my information will be sold all over the place to spammers, etc...
I'm still buying this camera from someone else, but DON'T BUY FROM DIGITALNERDS
