Casio EX-Z200 Review

Casio EX-Z200Today we’ve got the World’s first online review of the Casio EX-Z200 for you. The 10 megapixel Casio EX-Z200 is the first Casio compact to feature a 28mm wide-angle, 4x zoom lens, offering a focal length of 28-112mm. Casio have wisely included a mechanical CCD-shift anti-shake system on the Z200 to help prevent camera-shake. The EX-Z200 uses a newly developed 1/2.3 inch CCD sensor to allow for its thinner, smaller aluminium body. Priced at $299 / £200, Mark Goldstein reviews the Casio EX-Z200.

  1. Interesting! This was one of the cameras I was looking forward to seeing reviewed as it was Casio's first wide angle attempt and uses the new 10mp 1/2.3" sensor.

As far as the IQ, how much do you think is the new sensor and how much is this specific model? Or is it too early to tell?

  5. Mark, can the casio ex-z200 optical zoom DURING movie shooting, or only digital zoom?

    Thanks for your great review!

  6. Pressing the zoom button when shooting a movie only operated the digital zoom.

  7. This was one of the best reviews I've seen so far. That was enought to steer me on another direction as to upgrade my camera wich by the way is also a Casio, Exelin S500.
    Thank you

  9. Your image quality results are surprising. I just bought the Z100, essentially the same camera without optical anti-shake. I have compared images at 100x with my Canon Digital Rebel (with the 17-85mm EFS) and can see no discernible and consistent difference. Moreover, dynamic range, color saturation and contrast all appear excellent, especially given the price. There is a slight color shift towards the magenta, but not any more than you typically see in commercial processing and easiy correctable in Photoshop.
