  1. I see you mention the histogram. I just bought this camera and was playing around with it and the histogram apeared. I finally go rid of it but have no idea what I did. The instructions have a picture showing it but I cannot find any information on what it is, why I would want to use it and how to use it or get rid of it from my viewfider. What do you or anyone out there know about it?

  2. Janie, you can toggle the Histogram On/Off by pressing the Up-arrow
on the 4-way controller (Up-arrow also labeled DISP). The first press
turns the display indicators On, the second press turns the Histogram
On, and the third press turns them Off.

The Histogram indicates the relative amounts of shadow and highlight
areas of a particular scene. You can turn the Histogram On in Record
mode to see this information for the scene you're about to shoot. If the
scene has too much shadow, you can turn the camera's EV Shift up to
compensate. If the scene has too much highlight, you can turn EV Shift
down to compensate. You can also turn the Histogram On in Play mode
to see information regarding a scene you have previously shot and then
reshoot if it has too much shadow or highlight.

    Hope that helps.

  3. Can someone help me open the door to install the battery? I just bought this camera and can't even use it. No instructions in the book. Just a display of door open.

  4. It slides open. Then the battery must be in just right- I think front of battery facing the display - and contacts down for it to close . make sure battery is in all the way. Then slide little door back and if battery is in right it should be shut.

Good luck! I love the camera and it takes great pictures.

  5. you suggest that the casio exz60 is a great camera but takes less than perfect pictures. If so, what other cameras do you suggest in that price range?
