Delkin Introduces eFilm CardBus Adapter and New Drivers

Delkin Devices Inc. Press Releases

DELKIN DEVICES® INTRODUCES FASTER, LESS EXPENSIVE CARDBUS ADAPTERS INCLUDING MULTI-CARD VERSION WITH MAC SUPPORT

Poway CA, February 18, 2005 Delkin Devices Inc., maker of premium quality eFilm memory cards and other innovative digital photography products, announces three enhancements to their line of eFilm® CardBus adapters.  CardBus adapters enable memory cards to work in the PC Card slot on most Windows and Mac based laptops, and uses the high speed CardBus PCMCIA standard.

New drivers are now available for the award winning CompactFlash CardBus 32-bit PCMCIA adapter.  Already four to six times faster than all existing 16-bit adapters currently in widespread use, the new drivers significantly increase the CompactFlash CardBus’s transfer speeds in PCs.  Testing with the high speed Delkin PRO CompactFlash 4GB card using the Windows XP SP2 in a computer with Pentium 4 2.00 GHz chip showed an 18% increase in write speeds and a 15% increase in read speeds.  MSRP for the CompactFlash CardBus adapter has been reduced to just $49.99, and is available for immediate delivery.

Delkin Devices also announced the company’s new 5 in 1 eFilm CardBus adapter.  Company President and CEO Martin J. Wood said, “This is the first multi-card CardBus adapter available in the United States and Europe.  It comes as good news to photographers using a variety of memory card formats who need to minimize clutter in their camera bags.” The 5 in 1 adapter is first to provide CardBus transfer speeds to the xD memory card format.  Secure Digital, MultiMediaCard, Memory Stick and Memory Stick Pro memory card formats are also supported.  The 5 in 1 CardBus adapter MSRP will be $49.99, with shipments commencing the week of March 7th, 2005.

Mac support for the CompactFlash CardBus adapter has been available for over a year.  Delkin Devices, Inc. has now extended that support for the first time to the other popular memory card formats supported by the new 5 in 1 CardBus adapter.

“Photographers who have long been clamoring for Mac support in the speedy eFilm CardBus for xD, Secure Digital, Memory stick and other popular medias now have a solution,” said Wood.  Drivers suitable for systems OS 10 and above are available from the Delkin Support page at http://www.delkin.com

Since 1986, Delkin Devices, Inc., based in Poway, California, has been providing a broad range of products with premium quality, innovative designs and an ongoing dedication to superior customer service.  Delkin Devices, and its products, have become worldwide industry leaders in both OEM and consumer markets. eFilm is a leading choice among professional photographers and others passionate about digital photography. eFilm is available worldwide through a network of independent camera stores and online at Delkin Devices’ website at http://www.delkin.com.
