Dell Expands Personal Technology Portfolio with Printers, Handhelds and Miniature Music Player
Round Rock, Texas, September 20, 2005 - Dell today announced six personal technology products-ranging from feature-packed all-in-one photo printers and enhanced AximTM handhelds to the tiny new Dell DJ DittyTM music player-each designed to extend the capabilities of the personal computer for work and play.
The new products underscore Dell’s commitment to meet the needs of diverse lifestyles. For example, the company’s newest all-in-one photo printers feature high speeds, enhanced standalone photo printing options and optional wireless capabilities. Three new Axim handhelds offer data protection with persistent storage and on-the-go entertainment features. Weighing a little more than an ounce1, the Dell DJ Ditty music player, the latest addition to Dell’s Digital Jukebox lineup, holds up to 220 songs2 and supports FM radio and digital books.
In a first for Dell, consumers can also visit a Web site devoted to the Dell DJ Ditty, http://www.dellditty.com. There customers can find instructional “Ditty-O’s “ featuring “Mitch Ferrence “ to help audiophiles fully experience their music player through Rhythmic Movement, the Art of Lip Sync and Air Instrumentation.

* Handhelds - Three new Axim X51 handhelds feature Windows Mobile 5.0 software with persistent storage memory to help protect data, and Media Player 10 Mobile for entertainment on the go. Prices for Axim X51 models start at $299.
* Music Player - The new Dell DJ Ditty music player weighs 1.29 ounces1 yet holds up to 220 songs2 with an LCD screen for managing playlists. It also features an integrated FM tuner and supports audio books and portable music subscription services such as Yahoo! Musicmatch On Demand Portable3 and Napster to Go4. The Dell DJ Ditty starts at $99.
Mobility products-including notebooks, handhelds and music players-and software and peripherals, including printers, are a growing portion of Dell’s diversified product line. Together these product categories represented more than 40 percent of its total net revenue in the previous quarter.

I haver been attempting to use my printer yesterday i called Dell and from 10:00AM in the morning until 8:00PM I had two technical assistants unable to take care of a simple frequest. Now my AO1924 is completely unoperable. I had purchased a black ink cartdrige and Dell indicated that the color ink was needed to be replaced. I merely called up and told them my black ink was full and to please fix the error so I could print a very important document. at 8:00 the operator told me she would call me back this morning 900 NY time. she never called and now I think Dell is going to have to take care of this matter or I will take it further. thank you for a quick reply to my dilemma.
