DIWA Gold for Canon EOS 40D and 450D

Canon EOS 450DCanon’s EOS 40D and 450D DSLR cameras have both won the coveted DIWA Gold award. “In many parts of the world, the Canon EOS 40D and EOS 450D are top sellers in their respective categories, and our unbiased DIWA Labs tests and DIWA expert opinions tell us why. Reputed Canon quality and excellent value for money are the key reasons behind the Canon EOS success story” commented Kai Thon, Test Manager of DIWA Labs.

DIWA Press Release

DIWA (Digital Imaging Websites Association), a world-wide organisation of collaborating websites, awarded two Canon D-SLR products with a DIWA Gold Award. Two high quality digital system cameras, both serving large target groups to deliver digital photography experience on an elevated level. These two EOS D-SLR cameras deliver top quality performance thanks to innovative technologies inherited from Canon’s professional camera line, with the addition of optimized user targeted operation.

The EOS 40D combines a 10.1 Megapixel CMOS image sensor and a powerful and highly appraised DIGIC III image processor, capable of continuous shooting speed of 6.4 fps. The 3-inch Live View supporting high resolution LCD monitor is supported by a large and clear viewfinder, a combination that works with an extremely precise and reliable AF system, giving the semi-pro the perfect tool for most photographic challenges.

Although the EOS 450D has beginners and less advanced photographers as its main target group, most of its technological excellence is derived from the EOS 40D. Impressive improvements over its predecessors, such as a new 12.2 Megapixel CMOS sensor, a 3 inch Live View monitor with contrast based as well as phase-detection auto focus, 14-bit image processing, 3.5 fps and SDHC storage media support, make the Canon EOS 450D a particularly powerful D-SLR with outstanding qualities for its class.

DIWA Labs test conclusion Kai Thon
Kai Thon, Test Manager of DIWA Labs, concludes: “When Canon launched the legendary EOS 300D five years ago, the first true amateur D-SLR camera, it was a milestone that opened the D-SLR market to anyone. In some areas, D-SLR sales have reached 20% of total camera sales, and are still growing. In many parts of the world, the Canon EOS 40D and EOS 450D are top sellers in their respective categories, and our unbiased DIWA Labs tests and DIWA expert opinions tell us why. Reputed Canon quality and excellent value for money are the key reasons behind the Canon EOS success story”.

About DIWA
The Digital Imaging Websites Association (DIWA) is a fast growing group of independent Web-based specialist publications dedicated to digital imaging. DIWA harnesses the collective talent and expertise of its members, resulting in industry awards that command unparalleled confidence and value, both for consumers and the industry alike. DIWA awards come in the form of bronze, silver and gold medals for various product categories.

DIWA Test scoring procedure
DIWA product test awards are exclusively decided through the analysis of multiple test scores from different DIWA testers, testing different samples of the same product. A very detailed and comprehensive standardized scoring procedure is employed, tailored carefully for each category of product. Multiple testing eliminates the chance of an isolated, unrepresentative product sample or test error or a hidden bias from affecting the trustworthiness of the overall result. DIWA is also unique in its policy in issuing awards for deserving products throughout the year, culminating in annual best of the year Platinum medal awards in all product categories.

The site also archives DIWA awards and is designed to aid consumers in their choice of imaging products.
