Epson Stylus CX7800, CX5800F, CX4800, CX4200, and CX3810 and C88 Printers Announced

Epson have announced 6 new printers today - the Epson Stylus CX7800, Epson Stylus CX5800F, Epson Stylus CX4800, Epson Stylus CX4200, Epson Stylus CX3810 and Epson Stylus C88. All of the new models use DURABrite Ultra pigment ink.

EPSON ANNOUNCES SIX NEW PRODUCTS THAT INCORPORATE LATEST INK INNOVATION—DURABRITE® ULTRA INK

New Epson single function and multifunction printers are affordably priced and include Epson’s DURABrite Ultra pigment ink for printing beautiful smudge, fade and water resistant images on plain and glossy photo papers

LONG BEACH, Calif., Aug. 22, 2005 – Epson America, Inc. is announcing a new line of ink jet products that are perfectly suited for the home as well as the Small Office/Home Office environment.  These new models include one single-function printer—the Epson Stylus® C88—and five all-in-one devices—the Epson Stylus CX7800, CX5800F, CX4800, CX4200, and CX3810—that all utilize Epson’s new DURABrite Ultra pigment ink.  This new formulation of DURABrite pigment ink provides customers with the fade-resistance, water-resistance and smudge-resistance they’ve come to expect from DURABrite, plus now is compatible with Epson’s Premium Glossy Photo Paper.

Shared Features of the DURABrite Ultra Printer and All-in-Ones
· Outstanding Durability—With DURABrite Ultra pigment ink, this new product line provides smudge, fade and water resistance on any type of media, including ordinary plain paper and Epson Premium Glossy Photo Paper.
· Amazing Quality—These products offer resolutions up to 5760 x 1440 optimized dpi with ultra fine ink droplets to ensure incredible quality and sharp detail for everything from charts and spreadsheets to beautiful photos.  Customers can get great results whether they are printing on plain paper or on photo paper. 
· Individual Ink Cartridges—The entire line of products provide convenience and control to the user by only having to replace the color of ink that runs out. 
· BorderFree® Printing—All of the models can produce borderless prints in frame-ready sizes such as 4”x 6”, 5” x 7”, 8” x 10”, and letter.  Unlike other ink jet printers, with Epson’s BorderFree printing, there are no unsightly perforations to tear off. 

The Epson Stylus C88
The Epson Stylus C88 is a sleek, high-performance ink jet printer that is perfect for the small office or the home. The Epson Stylus C88 offers fast print speeds–up to 22 ppm for black text and up to 12 ppm for color text*.  The Epson Stylus Color C88 is compatible with Windows and Macintosh systems and offers USB 2.0 compatible connectivity. This printer also offers the addition of a parallel print port for wired networking.  The Epson Stylus C88 is available now for an estimated street price of $79.

The Epson Stylus CX7800
The Epson Stylus CX7800 is the flagship product in the new DURABrite Ultra all-in-one line.  This fully-featured product provides customers with an easy way to get beautiful reprints and enlargements from photos, documents or even film.  What really sets this product apart is its high-quality scanner, which offers 48-bit, 2400 x 2400 dpi resolution scanning for slides and negatives, and 1200 x 2400 dpi resolution scanning for photos and documents.  Additionally, the Epson Stylus CX7800 offers the ability to operate PC free.  Users can make copies of photos, documents and film, and even restore an old color slide, negative or photo without ever having to turn on a computer. 

This all-in-one model can print directly from a memory card or a PictBridge-enabled camera and gives users two options for reviewing and selecting photos.  Customers can view, enhance and select photos from a convenient 1.5” color preview monitor, or they can simply print out a proof sheet and choose the photos they want to print PC free. 

Color restoration is made easy with the Epson Stylus CX7800’s built-in color restoration, Epson Easy Photo Fix™ scanning technology. Customers can restore faded color photos, slides and negatives to their original beauty with just one click with or without a computer. 

Customers can get great results quickly with the Epson Stylus CX7800’s fast print speeds.  This model can speed through black text at up to 20 ppm and color text up to 19ppm and can print a high-quality, BorderFree 4”x 6” photo in as fast as 50 seconds.*

The Epson Stylus CX7800 is Windows and Macintosh compatible and offers Hi-Speed USB 2.0 connectivity.  It will be available in September for an estimated street price of $179. 

The Epson Stylus CX5800F
This versatile DURABrite Ultra all-in-one model offers full-featured scanning, PC free copying and printing in addition to high speed faxing in color and black and white.  The Epson Stylus CX5800F offers 48-bit, 1200 x 2400 dpi scanning for professional-looking results and it speeds through everyday printing up to 20 ppm for black text printing and up to 19ppm* in color. 

It is ideal for critical business projects, but also offers the flexibility to print and restore frame-ready photos with Epson Easy Photo Fix scanning technology.  Additionally, this model contains convenient memory card slots.  Photos can be printed directly from memory cards or PictBridge-enabled cameras quickly and easily.  Customers can also print PC free by choosing the images they want to print from a proof sheet. 

The Epson Stylus CX5800F is Windows and Macintosh compatible and offers Hi-Speed USB 2.0 connectivity.  It will be available later this fall for an estimated street price of $149 (after $30 mail-in rebate). 

The Epson Stylus CX4800
The Epson Stylus CX4800 is the ideal solution for everyday projects with its full-featured scanning and DURABrite Ultra pigment inks.  This model also prints directly from memory cards and PictBridge-enabled digital cameras and offers the option of printing a photo proof sheet to select and print photos without a computer.

It also delivers high-quality scanning of photos and documents and is able to produce 48-bit scans at a resolution of 1200 x 2400 dpi.  Creating reprints and enlargements and
restoring photos without a PC is more versatile than ever with this product.  In addition, the Epson Stylus CX4800 offers speedy printing at up to 20 ppm for black text and up to19ppm* for color text. 
This model is both Windows and Macintosh compatible and offers Hi-Speed USB 2.0 connectivity.  It is currently available for an estimated street price of $129. 

The Epson Stylus CX4200
This DURABrite Ultra all-in-one is ideal for the value-minded customer, who is seeking a solution for everyday projects.  It offers all of the same great features that are incorporated into the Stylus CX4800, with the exception of memory card slots. The Epson Stylus CX4200 prints directly from PictBridge-enabled cameras, making it easy to print images from a digital camera without using a computer. 

The Epson Stylus CX4200 is Windows and Macintosh compatible and offers Hi-Speed USB 2.0 connectivity.  It will be available in September for an estimated street price of $99. 

The Epson Stylus CX3810
This entry-level DURABrite Ultra all-in-one is the most affordable in Epson’s line.  It offers the same incredible print quality as the rest of the all-in-one line and PC-free copying of color and black and white documents. It also delivers detailed scans with its 600 x 1200 dpi scanner.  Whether the customer is creating a reprint or an enlargement or using Epson Easy Photo Fix to restore a cherished photo, this product is simple and straightforward to use. 

The Epson Stylus CX3810 is Windows compatible and offers USB 2.0 connectivity.  It is currently available for an estimated street price of $69 (after a $20 mail-in rebate).
