HP Press Release

HP contributes digital imaging expertise to premiere online photography forum

BOEBLINGEN, Germany, 8 March, 2007 – HP (NYSE:HPQ) today welcomed the opportunity to join worldwide online photography community Nikonians as a corporate sponsor. HP will offer its extensive expertise in the area of digital-imaging to one of the most popular photography-enthusiast sites on the internet, reaching 75,000 members in 140 countries.

The Nikonians community consists of advanced-amateur and professional photographers with a love of Nikon cameras – although the site has no direct connection to the Nikon Corporation. HP has a graphic arts and professional photography product portfolio directly targeted at this market, encompassing professional photo printers, large-format printers and original supplies.

Said Emilio Ghilardi, vice president and general manager, Consumer Business, Imaging and Printing Group, Europe, Middle East Africa, HP: “It is important for HP to be a part of one of the internet’s premiere sites for lovers of photography. HP invests a huge amount of R&D in its digital imaging products for advanced amateurs and professionals and this partnership represents a great opportunity to share this expertise with a committed and passionate community.”

Nikonians, at http://www.nikonians.org, receives 40,000 unique visitors a day and maintains an active community through initiatives such as forums, newsletters and workshops. HP will contribute exclusive content to the site in its role as sponsor, offering users access to HP promotions, competitions and specialist knowledge.

Said Joachim Feser, director of publishing and communications at Nikonians: “Hewlett Packard has already gained worldwide recognition as an industry leader in the photographic products that our community has been using for years, such as computers, printers and imaging software. Our corporate partnership will provide them with a direct link to their end-users.”

  1. HP cameras are pretty bad, they are not worth the money. HOW THEY DARE TO SPONSOR NIKON?

THe good thing about HP are their photographic printers.

    Cheers!
