Manfrotto Factory Tour

Manfrotto Factory TourTripods are not exactly the most exciting photography product that springs to mind. Dependable, yes. Very useful, certainly. Exciting? You’d probably think not, but a behind-the-scenes tour of Manfrotto’s tripod factory in Feltre, Northern Italy proved to be a real eye-opener. As Manfrotto can’t possibly allow every photographer into their factory, I’ll do my best to show you around in our exclusive article.

  2. 40-45,000 different components in one tripod? I think there's a typo...

If each component only weighed 1 gram, the tripod would require two people to lift!

  3. I am happly to read any details, about products I depend on. After years of other brands, with small parts getting loose. I went to the Manfrotto brand. Now years later
I still have everything in one piece. Tripods, grips, clamps, its all holding up.

  4. Thanks for a very interesting article about Manfrotto! I don't own one of their tripods, but have considered getting one.
I enjoyed the pictures from the factory but missed some catpions that would have made the pictures more useful!

  5. I enjoyed the info in this article since there are few pieces written on camera or photography accessory makers. But I have to say that whoever wrote this must not know english well, is a new writer, just didn't take the time, or simply doesn't know how to edit for there are many errors! Here are 8 I copied and pasted directly form the article:

Manfrotto employs over 600 people and overseas, and its headquarters...

Vitec also own the Gitzo brand (since 1992), who are celebrating their 90th anniversary

Gitzo is a much more up-market product line

Gitzo are positioned as the relatively low-volume,

but Manfrotto hope to achieve a more aggressive 6 month cycle

Now Manfrotto have invented some machinery

    Manfrotto are also heavily involved

Kata have recently licensed ten bags

I also appreciated the photos and the gallery at the end, some are very interesting, but I would have liked to know what some of those things were! Are we just supposed to guess what we're looking at, why no captions?

  7. This is cool. Great pictures. I love my Manfrotto tripod, and it always stays strapped to the back of my backpack for various excursions.
