Nikon D60 Photos
We have a selection of 20 photos taken with a pre-production version of the new Nikon D60 DSLR camera on a recent press trip to Las Vegas, USA. Please note that the Nikon D60 that I used was a pre-production version, therefore these images do not represent the quality of the final production camera.

"...these images do not represent the quality of the final production camera in any way."
Funny, why posting the images then? People check images from new cameras to assess quality. If the photos from camX are not representative of camX this negate the whole exercise.

Ghibli, these images were taken with a version of the Nikon D60 that is very close to final production, so they give a very good indication of what to expect from the camera.
But at the same time we're obliged by the manufacturers to point out that they are not representative of the shipping product with finalised firmware.

"But at the same time we're obliged by the manufacturers to point out that they are not representative of the shipping product with finalised firmware."
I guessed. The funny thing is manufacturers are eager to use online publicity as soon as they announce a model yet at the same time refuse to stand by the product they already shipped for "initial impressions". Probably in the light of this "initial impressions/ previews/ etc" are the marketing speak for alpha-testing

these are really dull and boring photos and wouldnt do justice to any camera model I dont think, pre-final production or not.

that's not what I said - I said they're dull and boring and wouldnt do justice to any camera model, you've used words I havent used and changed the context. Of course looking at images is important, that's one of the first things I look at for comparisons. But it would help if pics showed more of the various functions or capabilities and less yawn inducing rows of samey shots in a bland setting.
