Olympus E-520 Review
 On the surface, the new Olympus E-520 DSLR camera looks very similar to the 1-year old E-510 model that it replaces. The E520 retains some key features from its predecessor; the same 10 megapixel LiveMOS sensor, Supersonic Wave Filter, and body-integrated image stabilisation are all present and correct. What have Olympus added then to tempt you to part with £500 / $750 of your hard-earned cash? There’s a bigger 2.7 inch LCD screen, 3.5fps continuous shooting speed, the introduction of Shadow Adjustment Technology, Face Detection and more convenient auto-focus options in Live View, and wireless TTL flash control. I get flustered reading reviews but images tell me alot. This camera shoots great pictures. Image livliness(does the image look lifelike)is great. The sky color is superb and not washed out. Colors are superb and natural as well as fleshtones. Distance objects look sharp and lifelike. Olympus has a "signature" that pleases me very much so.

A good writeup - but one important caveat: the reviewer uses some of Olympus' professional lenses rather than the kit lens a buyer is most likely to buy. This fully exercises the capability of the camera body but it will be misleading to a buyer who misses the difference between the 'kit lens' 14-42mm f/3.5-5.6 Zuiko and the $2000 Zuiko Digital ED 14-35mm f2 SWD.

Andrew has a point. The people who normally buy DSLRs at this level will usually buy it as a kit, and scant few will actually buy anything else. Biggest factor: cost. Good lenses cost more than the camera.
For me, after getting really bad service and IQ from their compacts (and their idiotic xD cards), I'm never buying an Olympus again. Ever.
