Pentax K10D Review

The Pentax K10D is a lot of DSLR camera for a surprisingly small amount of money. Offering a 10 megapixel sensor, 2.5 inch LCD screen, Anti-Shake and Dust Removal systems, those headline specifications are only the beginning of the extensive feature list. The Pentax K10D has a sealed water-resistant, dust-proof body, 11-point AF system, 32 custom functions, Sensitivity-Priority and Shutter & Aperture-Priority modes, support for RAW and JPEG images and 3.3 fps continuous shooting. The K10D costs roughly the same as the Nikon D80 or Canon EOS 30D, which on paper offer a lot less, but does it have what it takes to challenge those big players? Read our review to find out.

1. The K10D does have a dedicated ISO button - the OK button. Just hold it and spin the dial.

2. The test camera had version 1.0.0 firmware installed. Was the ISO function added in a recent update?

   Ummmm... no dude. As you should be aware, previous Pentax DSLR's have had SR.
   
   "Pentax also now offer several new supersonic motor-driven lenses and a flashgun which together with the K10D form a completely weather-proof DSLR system."
   
   If the AF 360FGZ/AF 540FGZ are completely weather-proof as you say, that is surely news to those of us who own these units. Which model of the two flashes did you test in doing your review anyways?
   
   A final point: how can you evaluate macro performance in a camera and/or lens when using the non-macro kit lens?
