Pentax Optio Z10 Review
The new Pentax Optio Z10 is a compact digital camera with a 7x optical zoom lens, something of a departure for a company who typically produce compacts with 3x zooms. About the same size as a pack of playing cards and weighing less than 150g, the diminutive Pentax Z10 squeezes in a 38-266mm lens, 2.5 inch LCD screen and 8 megapixel sensor. Also featuring a sliding lens cover, Face Recognition, ISO 64-3200 and available in black or silver, does the Pentax Optio Z10 deserve a place on your holiday shopping list? Read our review to find out.

Here are my short review about Z10
Handling: Great menus (even more ergonomic than Casio) and access to camera settings (excluding T/A/M priotity) considering a small number of control buttons.
AUTO ISO range can be set. Genious widephoto-mode, triggered by zoom lever. Missing a _functional_ shake reduction system, video stabilisation is good, zooming and taking photo during video is a great feature.
IQ: Compared to Casio V7, much better sharpness at 7x zoom, although it seems the optics are the same. Color reproduction/WB is colder than Canon's, but can be tweaked. Much manual post- and pre-processing options in menus.
Battery: only ca. 100 images shot without flash.
Ergonomy: Very small and slippery. Good for pocket, bad for longtime use/still holding.

How could reviewer take sample photos at 28 mm when specs say this Pentax Z10 has 38-266 mm zoom??

Milos, thanks for spotting that typo, I've corrected it to say "38mm".
