PMA 2007 - Kodak Compact Digicams

PMA 2007: 4 new Kodak digital cameras have been announced at PMA - the Z712, Z885, C763 and C613. The Kodak Z885 looked the most interesting, with a 5x optical zoom, 8 megapixels and the headline-grabbing ISO speed of 8000. Kodak showed me some 6x4 inch and 10x8 inch prints taken using ISO 8000. At the smaller print size they were roughly comparable to a good 3 megapixel cameraphone image, while the larger size was less acceptable as you’d expect, with obvious jaggies. The Z885 offers full manual control and is a nice size, but sadly there’s no RAW mode for the more discerning photographer.
