Good review. As a user of this item I can confirm that this reader stands up well to every-day use. The unit is of very good construction, operates perfectly for me and transfers are fast and seamless. Slightly higher priced than some cheepos but well worth the money (I paid £29.99 on it’s first release, it’s less expensive now). One thing ……..
Quote: “The SanDisk ImageMate is supplied in both a dockable format (pictured) and stand-alone”
It’s not two totally separate units but a two-part assembly. Detaching the silver & black reader unit from the pedestal provides the ‘portable’ version, assembled they form the ‘desktop’ version.
Cheers, Dave B.

I have this and it has worked flawlessly EXCEPT for SD cards. I'm very luck if it works on them. It has never failed on Compact Flash format cards, but it's very iffy on SD's, for some reason.
