  1. As an amateur just getting started, any tips on how to take better pictures are always appreciated.

  2. I enjoy reading your camera reviews, but I would like to see more of
them. Why not a review of ALL new cameras introduced? I figured out
if you publish three reviews per day, everyday (except Sunday smile ),
you would be able to keep up with all the new camera introductions.

GARY POGODA at 06:10pm on Saturday, June 03, 2006

  3. You do a great job right now, you're one of my favorites.

What I'd like to see is reviews of reader pictures by professional photogs like one sees in the print version of Shutterbug(?) and others.

Thanks for all the work you put in; it shows. cheese

  4. I'd like to see the entries divided into sections. For instance, software blog entries would be in one section of the page. Printers, storae, and accessories in another. Camera introductions in another and finally general business news.
I picture it sort of looking like google news, but instead of SCI/TECH, SPORTS, etc... It'd be the categories I mentioned above.

Cos, to be honest, I don't care about these software entries. :p

  5. At least a "Next page" link at the top as well as the bottom of pages.

If possible, approximate date links (weekly or bi-monthly perhaps) for previous pages.

  6. The attraction to this site, for me, are the highly professional, technical and personable contibutions by Mr. Pogoda. I have to apologize for hogging alot of space here with my ramblings, and I promise to cut-back on my submissions, that said, I think this site is just about right, "Gary's Parries" gives the answers we need, the reviews are fair and balanced and the variety gives everyone something to go to.
I want to expand on what "Ed P" just said, except that my idea is a section called " My Picture and Why". Not from PROS, because we are all wonderful photographers, just that some of us give our pictures away rather than selling them.
We, from time to time, take an image that touches us for some reason, why not share that picture with the world in this section, with the tech data you used, and most importantly "Why" you were touched. The term "Pro" means nothing to me, I want to see what turns folks "on" (so to speak), whether it's from a Jr. High student just getting into photography, or a Grandpa, like me, that is thrilled to be in this world and loves to capture it's beauty... Life is just a memory, I'd love to see other's memories, the special one, not an entire blog-site.
Great idea, for this quiry, you guys are great!

  7. I enjoy your site, especially the news about new digital cameras and lenses. But for many of us who already have bought an SLR, in depth lens tests would be very welcome. We are not necessarily in the market for a new camera right away (in spite of the temptation to upgrade more frequently than the budget allows), but many of us are in the market for additional lenses. According to the manufacturers, their own lenses are all just excellent, but it would be more helpful to know the recommendations of independent reviewers! P Naesheim

  8. Your great blog (easily one of my favorites) would be even more enjoyable if its main content could load and be displayed before the adds and various links on the side of the page.
Some similarly content-heavy blogs (see Engaget for an example) seem to do just that, resulting in a much shorter loading time. Christophe L.

Christophe at 11:16am on Sunday, June 04, 2006

  9. I'd like to see reviews showing comparisons with older digital cameras in the same class as newer ones ... e.g. a typical consumer has an old Canon and wants to upgrade, but has no reference with which to start. Reviews of lots of technology let us compare performance with devices from times past. I understand that photos cant be replicated for certain types of scene, but comment about how far things have moved from generation A to B to C would be helpful.

Robert Logan at 11:23pm on Sunday, June 04, 2006

  10. An RSS feed would be excellent.

Chip at 02:59am on Monday, June 05, 2006

  11. Thank you, Nick, for those kind words. Actually, this week's column
was supposed to air April 6, 2006 (04/06/06), not June 4, 2006. So
that would be one suggestion, update to a modern date format.

Another suggestion would be to provide a table of contents linked to
all the articles. It would make navigation of the site much easier.

Also, ditto what Christopher said in #8.

    Gary's Parries at 05:00am on Monday, June 05, 2006

  12. The most frustrating part of the site to me is the secondary page. That is, when I read through the news article and click on a link to read more from the source, I usually wind up going to another P-blog page that repeats what I just read. That is stupid and wasteful. Just have the one link to the source of your article and skip the extra page for each news item. You'll save a ton of server space and bandwidth, plus make the site more convenient to use since it won't be so confusing.

Ed at 07:42am on Monday, June 05, 2006

  13. Your overall design seems a bit cluttered. I know your ads are important for the site, but it'd help if the viewer could differentiate between content and ads. Also, since your rss feeds are only a snippet of the actual article, I think they would greatly benefit from using images once in a while.

Jimmie Yoo at 09:44pm on Monday, June 05, 2006

  14. They already have a feed that works on bloglines.

Jeff Donovan at 11:00pm on Monday, June 05, 2006

  15. Lose the popups. They get in the way of reading the news articles.

Ed at 11:58am on Tuesday, June 06, 2006

  16. I really miss the comment preview snippets that used to appear in the
Latest Comments box at the left of the screen.

GARY POGODA at 06:43pm on Monday, June 12, 2006

  17. an excellent job, updates on old camera users like 300d will be added welcome, for e.g. putting a 10 d firmware into 300d body which will give increase access to more features and more iso settings,a buy/sell forum, and a collectors cornor
all the best an do keep up the good work
    regards

  18. If members photos could be available to see so easily similar to the next link I think it would help as it is so easy to see the photographers work without constantly clicking from photo to photo. ian muir
