  1. Best press release ever. If this really came from Sigma, I may even buy a lens from them.

  2. I've being looking for a left handed lense cleaner for some time. Will it work with a analogue lense on a digital body ?

  3. British humour at it's best!

  4. If only all press releases were as entertaining smile

This is a genuine press release from Sigma UK - cross my heart. They must have have had a few spare hours to write it.

Now, if only this article could get Slashdotted...

Mark Goldstein at 01:29pm on Monday, January 30, 2006

  5. This article is silly. You could get away with it on April Fool's Day, but otherwise it's not appropriate for a serious technology news site.

Jonathan at 07:37pm on Monday, January 30, 2006

  6. Very impressive to incorporate finally the remarkable low energy (LE)technology in a cleaning cloth. Have been waiting long for this!

Michael Walgram at 04:46pm on Sunday, February 05, 2006

  7. It's nice to see that manufacturers have a sense of humor; however,
they also need to use this approach in a responsible manner, which
Sigma has not done. By facetiously suggesting their lens cloth could
be used as a tissue backup, Sigma may have unwittingly introduced
a potentially harmful situation by neglecting to include the disclaimer
that further use of the cloth for lens cleaning would be ill-advised.

I would have to agree with Jonathan, this is a technical website, and
    an inappropriate place for humor.
