And, here are our 5 top tips for setting out as a pro photographer:
· Develop a style and specialise – you can’t please all of the people all of the time, but ensure you have a portfolio that amazes the people that matter
· Be seen – network, blog, talk, enter competitions, submit work, get a website, never shut up so that as many people as possible see your work
· Sort out the non-creative stuff – it might be boring but you need to make sure you pay your taxes and are insured
· Create a brand – not as difficult as it might seem, be clear about who you are and what you do and ensure this is communicated wherever possible
· Persist – it’s not going to happen overnight, take small steps, learn and progress, eventually clients will come back and you’ll be recognised for what you do
