Golly, they're only a year late with this one. What's next, the Minolta F-300?

I'm currently considering buying a G5 as a backup to my 10D, so I guess it's of interest to all those people who didn't consider the camera when it was first released.

If you're considering the G5, then you should also take a look at the Olympus 5060 and Nikon 5400. Both have much wider-angle lenses than the G5, as well as all the same features of the G5. They also both feature MUCH better macro modes (especially the Olympus). From using all three at the store I work at, it is my opinion that the Olympus 5060 is the best of the bunch.

I managed to track down a G3 yesterday for only £250 - unfortunately (and unsurprisingly) they had sold out and aren't getting any more stock :-(

The G5 can currently be bought for £380, and it has the advantage of taking all the same accessories as my 10D - 420ex flashgun, same memory cards, same batteries.
