Art of the Harley-Davidson Motorcycle by Dain Gingerelli is a new book featuring photographs by David Blattel. David’s career as a professional photographer began when he opened his first commercial studio in 1978 and from the beginning he fantasied about doing a shoot for the Harley-Davidson Motor Company. In 1989, his dream came true when he was chosen to shoot for their calendar. Art of the Harley-Davidson Motorcycle includes 104 of his photographs, showing the iconic machines set against beautifully chosen backdrops – where the bikes themselves shine as works of art in their own right. The 192-page hardcover is available now for £27.50.

Stunning Photographs of Legendary Motorcycles

The story has been told time and again during the past 100 years or so…. about the small wooden shed where three young men, William S. Harley, Arthur Davidson and his brother Walter created the first Harley-Davidson motorcycle - these were the men from Milwaukee, Wisconsin who successfully built a business empire that became known as the Legendary Harley-Davidson Motor Company.

Art of the Harley Davidson Motorcycle is a fascinating combination of both an artistic and factual look at the history of this famous motorcycle, from the early 1900s to today, with each model receiving equal attention. Photographer David Blattel treats every photo shoot as a work of art, setting the iconic machines against beautifully chosen backdrops – where the machines themselves shine as works of art in their own right.

Art of the Harley-Davidson Motorcycle includes over 100 stunning machines, and with Harley-Davidson expert Dain Gingerelli putting each machine in historical and technical context with informed profiles that complement the stunning images - the result is an attractive, informative overview of Harley-Davidson’s 100-plus years of style and innovation.
