Battersea Power Station #3
A couple of weeks ago I visited a part of London that I’d never been to before, round and about Battersea Power Station. This is an iconic London structure that is now disused, but is happily being preserved as an integral part of the redevelopment of the surrounding area. I got there at mid-afternoon to find the sun shining brightly behind the building, so I decided to underexpose and turn the power station into a silhouette. I wasn’t convinced at the time that I’d achieved any noteworthy photos, but looking back at them tonight I’m more than happy.

I thought there were doubts about how viable the redevelopment project is.

If you get the chance, see the movie "Richard III" with Ian McKellen playing the eponymous Shakespearian villain. The movie is set in a 1930s England turning fascist, with remarkable sets and costumes, quite a few shot at Battersea (representing the Tower of London).

Nice pictures! I like the double symmetry in the middle one especially.

As it happens, although the station itself is now disused, underneath the building flows most of the power supply for London.

Apparently it gets flooded regularly and the transformers are a bit dodgy. A mate of mine is just quoting to get the junctions removed before they can start the redevelopment.

Nice pics btw Mark!
