Burrard Lucas’ Pet Photo Contest
Burrard-Lucas Photography has launched a “Pet Portraits” photo contest. This competition is open to participants worldwide, aged 18 or over on the closing date of 22nd May 2010. There is no entry fee, and each entrant can submit a maximum of three images. Entrants will retain copyright of their entries at all times and will always be credited alongside their pictures. Prizes to win include a Canon EOS 7D digital SLR camera, a Lensbaby Composer and SmugMug accounts.

I think this is an excellent tool for up and coming, and established, photographers to get their work out there for free, maintain copyright to their photos, and win some excellent prizes.
http://www.str8photography.com/ offers Photo Challenges as well while also allowing photographers to get their work seen for free, receive credit, and still maintain their copyright privileges. They also offer HDR and SLR basics and tutorials, some of the best Photoshop tutorials I have been able to find on the net, and much more. It is one of my favorite Photography resources on the net.
