Camden Town Centre

I “rediscovered” these shots of Camden, North London, which were originally taken on a cold and sunny winter’s day towards the end of 2003. I only live a few tube stops away from Camden, but rarely go there due to the huge amount of tourists that throng the streets at the weekend. It’s a popular destination for teenagers looking for cheap alternative fashion, something like the last photo shows.

I have not been to Camden since I bought my first SLR but as a tourist from South Africa I really enjoyed it the times I went. It had such a good fun feel to it and the alternative sections were hilarious (CyberDog, wear ear muffs). I like that top photo most, nicely done and I imagine some street photography of the various characters that inhabit the area would be entertaining too.

I like photo #3, great repeating subject. I looked at photo #4 and thought, is the winter clothing the women wear in London now?
