TAIPEI CITY, Taiwan July 6, 2016 - PONTE Leather Company has just introduced a clever innovation, Camera Lift Strap, that is a welcome upgrade from the traditional design. This revamped strap saves photographers from the inevitable neck and back strain caused by the weight of their camera pulling on this particularly weak point of the body for hours at a time. The simple but effective redesign integrates an extra lift strap to the back of the main strap, it works by attaching to the handle of any standard backpack and redistributing the pressure from the neck to the shoulders. "The idea for the Camera Lift Strap came up after I spent two weeks traveling around Florence, Italy. I had been carrying my camera around town the entire time using a traditional camera strap. Though it was uncomfortable it was worth the sacrifice to have my camera handy and ready to go, so I would never miss a shot," says PONTE Leather Company CEO, Jerry Hu. "My camera, a Nikon DSLR, weighed almost 3 kilograms, almost seven pounds, and although that doesn't sound like a lot, it wears on your body when it's constantly pulling down all day. During and after the trip, I suffered from neck pain that lasted for weeks. I knew there had to be a solution. When I couldn't find anything available on the market, I decided to design my own."

Hu leads a team with a wide range of talents at PONTE Leather Company. Their mission is to create gear specifically for travelling photography that makes life a little easier while one is out exploring the world. Camera Lift Strap, their flagship product, has been in development since 2013. After a vigorous prototyping and testing period, it is now ready for production. With the factory and materials in place, it is set to hit the market by the end of the year.
