CAMERABAG PHOTO APP RELEASED FOR MAC FOLLOWING SUCCESS OF IPHONE VERSION
Sep. 23, 2009 - Following a year of top sales and critical success on the iPhone, Nevercenter today released its popular vintage photo app CameraBag for the Mac, adding power and new features to the app’s unique combination of addictive simplicity and sophisticated filters.
“The response to CameraBag on the iPhone has been phenomenal, including top reviews and features by Apple, Macworld, PC Magazine, Gizmodo, and The New York Times,” said Nevercenter President Tom Plewe.
“It’s a real sign of the times when a mobile application calls for a desktop version,” he added, “and this is a perfect next step for us. These filters really shine on a big screen.”
CameraBag for Mac features high-quality adaptive photo filters, which bring the “magic” of analog film processing to digital photos by recreating signature looks from popular classic cameras and film techniques. Sophisticated algorithms respond uniquely to each photo for the best possible result.
CameraBag’s newest filter, Colorcross, simulates a film developing technique known as cross processing, which results in a strong, color-swapped look frequently used in fashion ads and album covers.
Other new features in the Mac version include the “Multi-filter” mode, which allows users to layer filters to stunning effect, and an innovative “Reprocess” button.
Reprocessing offers a new, serendipitous kind of photo editing by subtly re-tuning the filters each time the button is pressed, for infinite variations.
“We think Mac users, like iPhone users, will really respond to CameraBag’s approach,” Plewe said. “CameraBag does all the hard work while still giving users artistic control, allowing them to quickly try out a variety of quality treatments, and then refine each look from there.”
CameraBag for Mac is available through the Nevercenter website at www.nevercenter.com/camerabag/desktop/ for $19. Payment via credit card and PayPal is accepted. CameraBag for iPhone is available via the Apple App Store.
