Canon EOS 350D / Digital Rebel XT v1.0.3 Firmware Released
Canon have released a new firmware version (1.0.3) for the EOS 350D / Digital Rebel XT DSLR.
This firmware update (v1.0.3) incorporates the following improvements:
1. Fixes the phenomenon of shots being unable to be taken when using the remote controller RC-1.
2. Fixes the phenomenon wherein the camera continues to scroll through images being played back.
3. Improves reliability in communication when using some CF cards.
This firmware update applies to cameras with firmware versions up to 1.0.2 installed. By installing this update, the phenomena will be fixed, and the affected cameras can be used without these problems. If your camera’s firmware is already version 1.0.3, it is not necessary to perform this update.

I'm waffling between purchasing the Canon DIgital Rebel XT and the Nikon d50/d70s...
ANy thoughts out there? I do 25% Sports photography and 75% still shots (portraits) as a prosumer working for a local paper.
My old camera is a Nikon (along w/ accessories) but I didn't like the manual focus of the d50/d70 lens.
Do you think that compact flash is better than SD ?
WHat's the difference between a silver body and black?
THanks

I was expecting a huge response to this question, especially from the

owners of these models, of which I am not one, so take this FWIW.
I don't see how you could go wrong with any of these models. I would
worry more about how each looks and feels to YOU, rather than about
their technological aspects. You could spend a little more on the D70s,
and get a little more, or spend a little less on the D50 or 350D, and put
the money saved towards a better lens. Don't buy the kit lenses.
As for the difference between CF and SD, I would not let that be your
deciding factor, unless you absolutely need the larger CF capacities.
Hope that helps. Maybe some owners will see this and respond.
