good head to head, I think after the luminous landscape review, essentially everyone knew that the canon would win. now we need a g10 vs lx3 review.

That wasn't very good. P6000 looks better from the picture comparisons, and the GPS can be programmed to update positions every once in a while to not drain the battery so much. I know it's not necessary but at least the Nikon has GPS.

I can“t understand the results of the review, comparing these pictures:
http://img.photographyblog.com/reviews/nikon_coolpix_p6000/sample_images/nikon_coolpix_p6000_09.jpg
http://img.photographyblog.com/reviews/canon_powershot_g10/sample_images/canon_powershot_g10_13.jpg
Or my english isn't good enough to read the conclusions, or
I became blind.
Maybe the canon G10 has more features (more mp, more zoom, etc) than the P6000 but, the results doesn't matters?

I agree with former comments, based on the pictures the Nikon is clearly ahead of the Canon.

Having read the above comments, I feel reasurred. The Nikon images are, to my eyes, clearly better. Of the two, the Nikon is the one I would buy.
Correction, WILL buy - after Xmas.
Colt.

yes, I agree with comments 3-6. photos taken with nikon are really better. despite lower nikon resolution, those pictures are equal in details. I was really after G10, especially after checkng photos at http://www.dcresource.com/reviews/canon/powershot_g10-review/gallery.shtml comparing those photos to panasonic G1 and other cameras. maybe Mark Goldstein has got a bad exaple of Powershot G10?

Great comparissom. After this I have no more doubts. However I am a nikonian, Canon G10 is the better then P6000. Is the camera that I was looking for to be my second gear.

It is so exciting to read a head-to-head comparison, and besides, it is a very useful review. You have won more kudos for this.

I think that the images were wrong labeled, simply because the Canon has slightly more resolution and the images should be a bit larger.
But in this review the larger images are assigned to the Nikon P6000.
IMHO the conclusion is right and if you put the images where they belong they would support the conclusion better :-)

Good review, straight to the point, showing in parallel the most important features of both machines. Pictures add a lot for the comparison and, yes, seems that Canon, once more, won the race!

Your comparison article is great. Congratulations. There is only one point missing...
I just bought the Canon G10 because is a great camera but I have to say that is UNACCEPTABLE that if you look through the viewer you find the lens in the bottom part. I know this camera is not a reflex, this is not the point, this is a MISTAKE of design and production.
So sad...
