Canon U.S.A. have issued a product advisory to PowerShot ELPH 330HS owners. According to the company there is a possibility that the following operation errors may occur due to insufficient contact between the camera’s battery terminal and the battery, even when the battery has sufficient power remaining: 1) the camera does not turn on, 2) the warning 'Charge the battery' appears immediately after turning on the camera, 3) the camera turns off during use. If you own an affected unit, contact Canon's Customer Support Center to have your camera and battery inspected free of charge.

In some PowerShot ELPH 330HS compact digital cameras, there is a possibility that the following operation errors may occur due to insufficient contact between the camera’s battery terminal and the battery, even when the battery has sufficient power remaining.
・ The message “Charge the battery” appears immediately.
・ The power sometimes does not turn on.
・ The power turns off during use.
If your camera exhibits the phenomenon described in this announcement, your camera and NB-4L battery will be inspected and repaired free of charge. If you own an affected camera, or if you have a question about whether your camera is affected, please contact our Customer Support Center.
