Canon IXUS 860 IS Review

Mark Goldstein | Digital Compact Cameras | November 26, 2007 | 0 Comments

Canon Digital IXUS 860 ISDIWA member LetsGoDigital have reviewed the Canon Digital IXUS 860 IS, an 8 megapixel camera which offers a 28mm 3.8x wide-angle zoom lens with optical Image Stabilizer.

“Well, I do have some issues where Canon dropped a stitch. For example the zoom range starting with 3.8 with a wide angle of 28mm is very nice. But wide angle delivers some distortion and although not significant; it is present and could do with some improvement. More important I find the effect of the noise reduction on details in a picture when ISO 400 or higher is used. The fact that the Canon IXUS 860 IS camera already suffers from noise at 400 ISO is an issue that Canon should keep in mind when developing an eventual successor.”
