United Kingdom / Republic of Ireland, 14 April 2008: Canon today announces an update to the popular PIXMA iP90v portable printer with the launch of the PIXMA iP100, a new compact and portable printer with exceptional print quality. The printer is available in a standard configuration, and a version including a rechargeable battery for total portability.

The stylish, compact design of the PIXMA iP100 makes it the natural choice for both business-people on the road and style-seeking home users. The enhanced FINE print head and new five colour ink system offer exceptional portable print quality, with sharp text and photo lab quality prints.

The PIXMA iP100 features a new 9600dpi FINE print head, bringing exceptional 9600 x 2400dpi photo lab print quality to the portable sector. The 1pl ink droplet size helps to produce virtually grain free photos. The PIXMA iP100 has a five ink system, which includes a large Pigment black ink tank for crisp, sharp text as well as Dye black for enhanced photo quality.

This enhanced print quality combines with exceptional print speeds to make the PIXMA iP100 one of the most effective portable printers on the market. Mono documents print at 20ppm and colour documents at 14ppm, while the
PIXMA iP100 prints a 10 x 15cm borderless photo lab quality print in approx. 50 seconds. As with all PIXMA printers, the ChromaLife100 system ensures long lasting, beautiful photos.

Stylish and compact
Weighing just 2.0kg, the compact and stylish PIXMA iP100 can easily be carried wherever it needs to go, providing the ultimate in printing freedom.

Users can choose from two printer kit options, one of which comes supplied with a rechargeable battery kit (LK-62) in the box. The battery prints approx. 290 pages on one charge. An in-car charger (PU-200U) is also available as an option for charging on the move.

Wireless convenience
With IrDA IR as standard and optional Bluetooth Unit BU-30, the PIXMA iP100 offers a simple way to transfer files and images for convenient cable-free printing. The PIXMA iP100 can also be connected quickly and easily to a laptop or desktop computer via USB 2.0 Hi-Speed.
