Canon PIXMA Pro 9500 Review at Photo-i
Photo-i have started an interactive review of the long-delayed pigment based Canon PIXMA Pro 9500 A3+ professional printer.
“Looking at the size of each Canon cartridge I wonder just how much ink they contain, I will try to find this out. The HP cartridge contains 27ml and an Epson R2400 contains approx 14ml. Having said that, I couldn’t imagine bigger cartridges fitted in a print head assembly that moves up and down the print rail. I am surprised that Canon didn’t incorporate a static ink system as with their large format printers - this would mean a totally new design from the Pro 9000 chassis. But then HP did do that with the B9180.”

Hello!
Ive been in a huge quandary about which printer to buy!
Here in the States there's a powerful Epson lobby. Basically, everyone in New York tells me to buy either the Epson 3800 or 4800! (I notice you only make comparisons to old Epson printers!)
I'm anxiously awaiting the completion of your review - the smallness of the ink tanks bothers me - but let me cut to the chase:
Does the "new" Canon Pixma 9500 - discounting the paper-size issue - compete with or surpass the two aforementioned Epsons???!!
A world of thanks! Hopefully, you'll let me know soon!
Best wishes,

Hello,
Has anyone printed a B&W image on matte using one of PS's preset selenium tones? I was hoping to get some comments on whether it deepened the blacks and how the image looked using a matte paper. If anyone has printed an image like that would you please contact me. I'm looking to get the 9500 but it's important to see what it looks like on matte since this is what i will be using mostly. Thank you.
