Canon have provided a rare opportunity to see into the minds of their product design team by providing early hand-drawn sketches for the innovative PowerShot N compact camera.

Four people from Canon’s Japanese team were responsible for the PowerShot N’s design. Miyabi Orihashi, Product Designer, Design Center, Canon Inc, and designer of the PowerShot N commented: “The PowerShot N is not only for consumers who want to record memories but also for those who are eager to capture beautiful, artistic photos for other people to enjoy. I hope people who don’t have a deep knowledge of camera functions and settings will find they are able to take a range of interesting and expressive images using this camera.”

I work for a website taking photos of its Models, and i find that the design process for a camera to be very interesting, From these images, to a degree, they change the final design slightly as far as i can tell. Assuming they build the design in a CAD program before a prototype is manufactured they must have an error margin? or be expected to bring the final design up to scratch, Either way I think there may be a few missing picture in the middle.

Interesting, but how about a little credit where credit is due?

Sure, this is kind of info-limited by being mostly an image gallery, but one image was added specifically to help us with the identity of the four creative people. However, instead of giving us any names, it just says, "Concept maker," etc.

Only because Miyabi Orihashi is quoted in the gallery intro does anyone get mentioned by name.

So, to quote from "Close Encounters of the Third Kind," "Who ARE you people?"
