Canon SD870 IS Review at DigitalCameraInfo

Mark Goldstein | Digital Compact Cameras | October 13, 2007 | 1 Comments

Canon SD870 ISDigitalCameraInfo have reviewed the new Canon SD870 IS camera, which offers 8 megapixels and a 3.8x, 28mm wide zoom.

“The Canon PowerShot SD870 IS offers a few practical upgrades from its predecessor. The 3-inch screen makes it easier to read menus and check out pictures. It has a wider 28mm lens that can fit larger portraits. The SD870 also boasts a new face detection system that recognizes up to 35 faces at a time – but how often do users photograph that many people? And in general, the SD870’s autofocus system is a bit pokey. There are few weaknesses to the camera’s performance though. Its colors are very accurate and its movies are among the best we’ve seen.”

The author of this review makes one big mistake: he thinks, the SD850 is the predecessor of the SD870. The predecessor of the SD870, though, is the SD800. How couldn´t he get this point?
