Canon trusted? They didn't asked me !!!!
All my EOS cameras beginning with 620 all failed me. An expensive video camera ($2700 then) MV3i MC and my son's one broke down a few months after purchase. Warranty were honoured but the problem resurfaced a few months later. Even a point and shot Canon I recently bought for my granddaughter broke down seven days after I gave it to her for her birthday. Silly me.. I bought Canon for their features not for their durability. Never again Canon. We still have the old video camera and the point and shot to prove this claim. I had to buy my grandgaughter a replacement tough Fuji XP10 shockproof, waterproof, freezeproof camera. I now have a Pentax K5 and a Nikon D40x, and will keep them forever. By the way my Nikon FG20, F801s, Ricoh GR1 are all in working order still.

Canon advertise much more than Nikon, so they are better known.
