This image is from his series the Scream Portraits. He writes about “Basically, it (the Scream-oTron 3000) will take a picture when you scream loud enough. I wanted to strip away all the artiface that normally goes into making your image. Its not about your clothes, or if your ears are two big, or if you are fat, or old. Its about emoting something real, and letting the camera catch a glimpse, all though a wizard of oz like artifice.”
In his project, Never Let You Go, the Argentinian photographer explores how Alzheimer’s disease changes the life of the people who live close to the patient. The subjects are his grandparents who live in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
Dutch photographer and journalist combines photo essays with written stories. She firmly believes storytelling is an important art that can open the eyes and connect people. Cadets (since 2010) explores the importance of the military in American society through the lives of at-risk teenagers. Ellen documents the daily life of the cadets of the Junior Reserve Officers’ Training Corps (JROTC) of Fall Mountain Regional High School in Langdon, New Hampshire.
This Santa Fe, NM based photographer will be showing the work Occupied Territory. He writes:
“I choose to depict these often awkward and unintended outcomes juxtaposed with undeniable beauty. By using the unflinching, square frame to visually unify these two facets, I explore the subtle relationships and interactions between “occupation” and “territory.”
