Children with Cancer UK Press Release
A children’s cancer charity has extended their photography competition deadline to encourage more entrants and raise more life-saving funds.
CHILDREN with CANCER UK are inviting amateur and professional photographers to find their inner child and submit photographs for their first photography competition.
The panel of judges, which includes celebrity photographer Nicky Johnston, award winning wildlife photographer and cameraman, Charlie Hamilton-Jones and Matt Fisher, owner of Photographic Synergy, are looking for images that represent childhood.
Photographs could be of a special occasion or anything that reminds you of your own childhood.
Nicky Johnston celebrity photographer and judge says, “I was delighted when CHILDREN with CANCER UK asked me to judge their new photography competition. I’m really looking forward to seeing how people capture the essence of childhood through the lens.”
The deadline has been extended to midnight on Friday 17th August 2012.
The top prize in both categories is a day-long big cat photoshoot in Hertfordshire worth £195, kindly donated by Photographic Synergy, plus a £50 photography voucher.
The five runners up in both categories will receive a £50 photography voucher and all 12 pictures will be used in the charity’s 2013 calendar to celebrate their 25th anniversary.
To raise life-saving funds, the charity is asking entrants to donate £5 for each child’s entry and £10 for adults.
Caroline Blakely, Chief Executive at CHILDREN with CANCER UK says, “Tragically, over 3,300 youngsters are diagnosed with cancer every year in the UK. We rely exclusively on voluntary donations and are extremely grateful to everyone who so generously supports our work. With your support, we can help many more children and save even more young lives.”
