Cool Photo Effects for Windows 8 Adds 300 Creative Effects to Photos

February 14, 2014 – Mykhaylo Kozelko, an independent application developer, announces the release of Cool Photo Effects for Windows 8 that allows you to apply 300 original and exclusive effects to photos.

For some photographers, the original image is just the launching point for a new composition. After layers of brushes and edits, the final photo may look totally different. For those photographers, Cool Photo Effects is the perfect app. Its library of filters offers 300 creative effects that can be combined to give a unique look to a photo.

The filters include:

- Black and White
- Bi-Color Effect
- Blending Effect
- Cinema
- Color Effect
- Cross Processing
- Ink Effect
- Light Effect
- Old Film
- Photo Effect
- Sepia
- Textures and Scratches
- Vignette

Here’s how you can enhance a photo. To begin, select a photo from the gallery. Then pick the effect you want to apply and the application shows thumbnail images with many variations of the chosen filter.

Select the variant you like and click Apply Effect. Enhanced photos are saved at original resolution.

Cool Photo Effects for Windows 8 costs $2.99. Free trial available

These effects look cool but I didn't like Windows 8 in general.

I downloaded the trial. Great effects, the only problem is the app downsamples my 4288x2848 12mp images to 3000x1992 or about 6mp. That may be necessary on mobile devices, but not on laptop or desktop PCs. That makes it a deal killer for me. Too bad, I would have gladly paid the freight for the app.
