Cosina has ceased manufacturing of Carl Zeiss and Voigtländer branded manual focus lenses for the Pentax K mount. The Japanese website of the company has a short note saying that the Carl Zeiss ZK line has been discontinued, and these lenses can only be bought until stocks last. Photoscala reports that Carl Zeiss wants to concentrate on the more lucrative ZE and ZF.2 lines instead.

I just hope that they are still committed to making M-mount lenses.

How frustrating that this company discontinued the sales of lens with such little notice to the customers. The public relations representatives of the company should have been quick to remind customers of the other products still available through the company. I hope Cosina is quick to follow up the discontinuation of their old lens with a new exciting product.
