Cosina Voigtländer Ultron 40mm f2 SL II Aspherical
Cosina has released a Canon version of its Ultron 40mm f2 SL II Aspherical “pancake” lens, which has hitherto only been available for Nikon and Pentax. The Ultron is a manual-focus lens made up of six elements in five groups, and has an angle of view of 57° on full-frame and film SLRs. The release of the Canon version makes it the most compact EF mount lens ever made. The lens can currently only be purchased in Japan, for the price of 53,000 yen. N.B.: The illustration above depicts the Nikon version.

Fujifilm X-S1 Review
Canon PowerShot SX40 HS
#1 usb speicher
Hi, I’ve just ordered the Ultron 40mm and Nokton 58mm based on several good reviews about them (including yours). I had a chance to test the Ultron at a local camera store and just loved the build quality and size, it really is a class above the cheap dinky 50mm f1.8 Nikon that I have. Just a quick question, when you said the D300 has a focusing aid, do you mean the viewfinder focus indicator dot? I have a D90 which has the dot and I found that when using my 50mm f1.8 Nikon on MF, the dot will also appear with all the other focus points, not just the centre one. This is a great aid in focusing. Can’t wait for my lens!
